Once upon a time, Nasreddin and his son decided to travel to the nearby town. They had a donkey to ride, but they faced an interesting dilemma.
Nasreddin told his son, “You can ride the donkey, and I’ll walk alongside.”
As they walked, some people saw them and said, “What a disrespectful boy! He rides the donkey while his poor father walks!”
To avoid criticism, Nasreddin boy suggested a change. He asked his father to ride the donkey instead.
Soon, they met another group of people. One person said, “Look at them! The poor boy walks while his father enjoys the ride.”
so, Nasreddin and his son decided to both ride the donkey. Surely, this would silence any critics.
Along the road, they met two old men. One of them said, “That poor donkey looks exhausted!”
Nasreddin and his son stopped
Nasreddin turned to his son and said, “The best solution is for both of us to walk. Then no one can criticize us.”
So, they continued their journey on foot.
As they walked, they saw another people and one of them said , “Look at those fools! Both walking in this hot weather while the donkey rests. How silly!”
Nasreddin smiled and said to his son, “Remember, my boy, you can’t please everyone.”
